This policy explains how WERONX collects, uses and protects your personal data.
WERONX ("we", "us", "our") is a luxury fashion rental platform based at Adjacent Dansoman SSNIT Flats, Accra, Ghana. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you browse, book or manage a rental with us, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it.
Account details: name, email, phone number and password. Fit profile: body measurements you provide, used to recommend and confirm sizing. Delivery information: your delivery address and any note for the courier. Identity verification: where required, a scan of your Ghana Card or passport and a live selfie, captured directly from your camera. Order & payment data: your booking history, rental dates, amounts paid, and a payment reference from our payment processor; we do not receive or store your card number. Communications: messages you send us and support tickets. Technical data: device/browser information and basic site-usage analytics collected automatically when you use the site.
To create and manage your account and bookings; to confirm sizing and reduce returns due to poor fit; to arrange delivery and collection of rented items; to process payments and refundable deposits; to verify identity and prevent theft or non-return of high-value items; to provide customer support; to meet our legal and accounting obligations; and, only where you opt in, to send you marketing communications about new arrivals or offers.
We share data only as needed to run the service, never sold to third parties for their own marketing. Supabase hosts our database, authentication and file storage. Paystack processes payments. Resend delivers transactional emails (booking confirmations, receipts). Smile ID (where identity verification is active) performs identity checks against the ID document and selfie you provide. Third-party delivery partners (such as Bolt or Yango) receive only the name, phone number and address needed to complete delivery or collection. Verification data is disclosed to law enforcement only in cases of confirmed theft or non-return of a rented item, as described on the verification consent screen and in Section 8 of our Terms.
We keep account and order data for as long as your account is active and afterwards for as long as needed to meet accounting, tax and legal obligations. Identity verification images are retained only as long as necessary for fraud prevention and legal compliance, then deleted. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time, subject to records we're legally required to keep.
Access to personal data is restricted by role (customer, vendor, warehouse, support, finance, admin), enforced at the database level, not just in the application. Payment card details are handled entirely by Paystack and never touch our servers. Identity verification images are captured live from your camera; we do not accept uploaded files for this purpose, which reduces the risk of stolen or reused documents.
Under the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) of Ghana, you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate data, request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention requirements), withdraw consent to marketing at any time, and lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission of Ghana.
